I have some sad news and some interesting news. First the sad. Former pro wrestler Karl Gotch has died recently at the age of 82. He was very popular in Japan and was known as the "God of Wrestling" over there. He wrestled for a short time in the U.S. in the late 50's and early sixties but was banned from most places because of a locker room altercation with the then World Heavyweight Champion, the original Nature Boy, Buddy Rogers.

Gotch has trained wrestling greats like Antonio Inoki, Hiro Matsuda,(the man who trained Hulk Hogan) and Tiger Mask. .

Gotch's other legacies to professional wrestling includes the belly to back waistlock suplex which was called the German suplex in his honor.

Karl Gotch is an icon in the world of professional wrestling and will be missed by all who knew him.

The Iron Shiek recently made an appearance on the Howard Stern Show and from what I understand it is definitely must see tv. It started out great as Howard and Robin treated him like a wrestling god but the Shiek soon got irritated when Artie, one of Stern's goons called the show and claimed to be the Iron Shiek Jr. and was just signed to a multi million dollar contract with the WWE.

Other of Stern's people also called in claiming to be the Ultimate Warrior, Randy Savage and the Killer Bees.

Here's a bit of trivia for you. Did you know that Hulk Hogan was hired into the WWE, then WWF, as an Irish Villain by Vinnie Mac Senior and was subsequently fired from the WWF for taking the role as ThunderLips in Rocky III? He was re-hired a couple of years later by Vince Jr. and the rest as they say, is history.
