How to make a candle tart
Candle tarts are small wickless like candles that are melted in a special container or candle warmer. They are simply placed in a wax potpourri warmer and lit below by an unscented tea light candle or electric warmer.

Making floating candles
Floating candles are small candles made with the top portion larger than the bases, just like a bowl. Floating candles lit in a pool of water can add a pleasant atmosphere to any room.

Measurement conversions for Candle makers
As a candle maker and any other craftsman, we deal with weights and measures on a day to day basis. Making a consistent quality candle requires accurate measuring of your key ingredients.

Candy cane candle
This is the season to be jolly and you can make your candles part of the holiday season. Highlight your candles can be done in many ways to reflect the upcoming season. This project will be to make a pillar or container candle to look like a candy cane.

Safety precautions you should know.
Whether you make candles for yourself, family, friends or financial gain this can be a very busy time for us. Before you start, make sure you brush up on basic safety practices.

Embellishing a candle with bamboo
As you know a candle may be embellished in many different ways. Previously we have discussed various botanicals, such as dried flowers, leaves, sticks and twigs. Bamboo can be used to embellish the outside of a standard pillar candle and that's what we're going to do today.

Using a Pouring Pot
I always recommend pouring melted wax from the double boiler into a pouring pot. Using a pouring pot reduces the chance of spilling melted wax and makes filling molds/containers easier and safer.

Making Tallow for candles
Tallow as you know was one of the first mediums for making candles and soaps. Tallow is made from various animal fats that are melted down and clarified. This process is called rendering, which is a process for separating fats from other organic materials.

Candle making supplies you already own
Seems like each time someone finds out that I make candles, the first thing they say is, "You do?" The second question is, "How?" Most of the general public thinks that there is some terribly difficult and complicated procedure using expensive equipment involved in crafting homemade candles.

Corrugated candles
Using corrugated cardboard to give a candle a ridged texture can be used to add a different look to your latest candle making project.
