Wild Arms 3
An RPG series with plenty of unique twists, Wild Arms is generally a good series, and Wild Arms 3 is no exception to this stylistic uniqueness. It has as much in common with a Wild West story as it does with a fantasy RPG.
Monster Rancher EVO
The fifth game in the Monster Rancher series, Monster Rancher EVO takes the series in a bit of a new direction.

The first incarnation of the AtL series on the PS2, Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits is a tactical RPG, though more the latter than the former.
Atelier Iris 3 : Grand Phantasm
The third AI game to be translated and brought over from Japan, Atelier Iris 3 retains many of the gameplay conventions and stylistic types used in the previous games. However, compared to previous games in the series, it is actually reduced in quality in many ways.
A remake of the 1983 Square RPG classic, "Romancing SaGa" for the PS2 attempts to recreate the old-timey charms and deliver them in a new graphic system. While many of the game's story segments seem cliche now, since this is a remake of such an old game these can be forgiven.
A charming PS2 with a lot of unique touches, Radiata Stories is in many ways a standard RPG but distinguishes itself in many ways as well.
Ys : The Ark of Napishtim
The sixth game in the interconnected Ys series of games, the Ark of Napishtim is the first English release of a Ys game since Ys III. However, that doesn't stop the story from being connected to many older games fairly directly.
A compilation including Growlanser II and III, Growlanser Generations is basically a repackaging of these old games. These games were not formerly available in the US, and now are due to the PS2 adaptation.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms IX
The smarter cousin of Koei's Dynasty Warriors series, RotTK takes the setting of Dynasty Warriors - namely, the Three Kingdoms period, the end of the Han Dynasty in China.
X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse - PS2
A beat-em-up game set in the X-Men Universe, X-Men Legends II changes the plot from X-Men Legends - whereas the first had the X-Men battling Magneto, the second introduces the villain Apocalypse and forces the two groups to team up against him.
