INDEX Color Palette Book Tmp Affinity Publisher

In the next few tutorials, we will create a template for a color palette eBook. The final eBook will be in PDF format. We will also be generating these color palettes from royalty free images. We will use Affinity Publisher to build the eBook template and generate colors from each image. When finished, you will have a great reference book containing all of your favorite color palettes in one place for your next project.

Because we will be creating this template to have a cover and two-page spread master pages, you can include as many pages as you wish in the eBook. Each new page will be automatically populated with the master page design. All you need to do is add the source image, use Affinity Publisher to generate a color palette, and fill in the information for each color swatch. When finished, you will export the eBook as a PDF. You will be able to open the PDF in to Goodnotes or view it with another PDF viewer app, such as Preview.

We will start by creating a new document. We will use the letter page size, which is 8.5 x 11 inches. At the 72 dpi resolution, the page size will be 612 x 792 pixels. We will also start with 5 pages, but you can add as many as you wish.

Open Affinity Publisher and click File - New. Set the following values in the New Document window (see screenshot).

We will put the source image for the color palette at the top of the page. We will draw a rectangle picture frame to hold the image. For each new color palette source image, you can easily add the source image in the picture frame.

Under the image, we will put two rows of color swatches, with four swatches in each row. Under each circle color swatch, we will put the Hex and RGB color codes for each color. You can use text boxes and placeholder text for the color codes. Or you can leave empty spaces for writing in the codes by hand. At the very bottom, we will put the page number.
