What Makeup Concealer Is

There are basics for getting a great look, after cleansing, toning and hydrating of course. One of these basics happens to be concealer. Of course, we're all beautiful just as we are. We are also learning to love ourselves more each day. However, should an Ethnic Beauty choose to use concealer, it will enable her to concealhide, or minimize things that she just might consider slight imperfections. Therefore, let us look at concealer. It is makeup specifically designed for camouflaging. Traditionally, it has been used mainly by women, but there are men who now also use it. Applied correctly, concealer can cleverly disguise darkness around the nose, veil under eye circles, and de-emphasize discolorations.

In using this little miracle to diminish the look of imperfections, remember, concealer should never draw attention, but should seamlessly coalesce with the skin surrounding it. Available in many shades and coverage levels, concealer can sometimes mimic the look of an ethnic beauty's own skin. Other types will detract from the brightness of inflamed skin. Accessible in many forms such as: pressed, loose, or mineral powder, concealer may also be obtained as a pencil, a liquid, a paste, or as a cream.

Application with a concealer brush is preferable. A clean cosmetic sponge may also be used, but remember, any type of concealer should be applied with a light touch and should only be applied to areas that need it. Recently I have learned that many makeup experts suggest the application of concealer after foundation. A tip that they also offer is for an Ethnic Beauty to seek concealer the exact shade of one?s skin, or a shade lighter.

My lovelies, I saw something that I thought was revolutionary. Available are concealer palettes! These are small cards or compacts that contain numerous shades, thus making it easier for one to blend and get the precise shade needed. This however, is something that should be played with before one needs to create a look. It is advisable to try it one night, perhaps, when you're in for the evening and can afford to spend some time on you.

Then using a concealer brush--recommended because it enables one to dab even the small spots, apply just a bit of concealer to the desired area. Use the small end, the tip of the brush to do so. Then blend, so that the concealer will not simply sit atop the skin. Should one need to conceal a larger area, use the same method, but with a wider sweep of the hand. Makeup experts also say the other end of the brush may be used when needing to apply more than a dab of concealer.

I will tell you, I truly believe no ethnic beauty wants her 'secret weapon' shouted the moment that she appears. Therefore, remember a light touch is best. Also, in cases where one's skin has minimal flaws, or if the concealer coverage is sheer to light, then it may be worn alone. Isn't that great? However, concealer is most often worn with foundation; thus aiding one to create a fabulous face.

Once you've perfected your look, and you're feeling fab, do not forget to set it with translucent powder, which should also match your skin tone. Use a larger feathery-bristled brush. This way you will attain a natural, not cake-y appearance. Then you're set baby girl, concealed, and off to see the world!
