Over the past five years, my work has concentrated most specifically in the area of gifted education. I have taught courses as an adjunct professor at a local university, instructing education majors how to work with the gifted population. Also, since 2009 I have been the director of a summer academy for gifted students. I am currently on the board of the Indiana Association of the Gifted and serve as the chair of their Parent Network. Speaking to teachers, professors, parents and college students on characteristics of giftedness and gifted education fills part of my time as well.
Hobbies include singing, reading and traveling. Keeping up with three gifted children of my own, however, takes a considerable amount of time and energy as we work to meet not only their academic needs but also find ways to help them use their gifts and talents. I look forward to providing insights and information for you regarding the world of gifted education.
