About the BellaOnline Museums Editor

My name is Kim Kenney, and I am the Museums Editor at BellaOnline. I have a Masterīs degree in History Museum Studies from the Cooperstown Graduate Program, and a Bachelorīs degree in History with a minor in Creative Writing from Wells College. I have been a professional curator for ten years.

I have worked at the Rome Historical Society in my hometown of Rome, NY; Wells Fargo Historical Services in San Francisco; and the Senator John Heinz Pittsburgh Regional History Center in Pittsburgh, PA. I was an interpreter at the Erie Canal Village in Rome, NY. I served as Curator of Collections at the Historical Society of Rockland County in New City, NY before taking the position of Curator at the Wm. McKinley Presidential Library & Museum in October 2001.

I am the author of three books, Canton: A Journey Through Time, Cantonīs West Lawn Cemetery and Cantonīs Pioneers in Flight. I have also published an exhibition review in The Public Historian, the journal of the National Council for Public History. My work has appeared in The Boston Globe, BellaOnlineīs literary magazine Mused, and the Amazon Shorts program. The Association for Gravestone Studies recently awarded me the Oakley Certificate of Merit for my interpretive projects at West Lawn Cemetery.

Museums are not only a place to learn -- they are a place to have fun! Cultural heritage tourism is one of the largest segments of the travel industry, making museums a destination for countless family vacations every year. There are all kinds of museums, preserving the unique stories of individuals and communities.

This site is going to be THE resource for all things related to museums. Check back often for new features, including exhibition reviews, antique spotlights, and travel ideas for your next vacation!
