My name is Cynthia Parker and for the past eighteen years, my primary "job" has been the role of single parent. I have two beautiful daughters, 19 and 23, who are beginning to forge their own path, making me an empty-nester on at least a part-time basis.

I have several "careers" and have not yet decided what I want to be when I grown up. I am an administrative assistant at a local college, an English/Anthropology student, an aspiring author, head chef to a discriminating audience, a gardener, a plumber, a researcher, a listener, a healer-in-training, and an accomplished juggler (of funds, that is). Life is never dull.

But this site isn´t about me - its about single parents everywhere. Having lived most of my life as a single parent, I understand the hopes, fears, joys and concerns of single parenting. This is a forum for both the concerns and triumphs of single parents. I want to address topics that are important to you. I want to help you find answers to your questions.
