Some personal notes: I am 59 years old, married and live in Fredericksburg, Virginia. I work in the commercial audio-visual industry as a sales executive and have for over 20 years. I have degrees in Political Science and Music. I started writing for my high school newspaper in 1966 and continued writing in college and since then in magazines, journals and community newspapers, mostly about music and technology. The chance to have my own little piece of the baseball world is irresistible!
My objective at BellaOnline is to present the game in its history, pageantry, and intricacy, to show how it becomes a part of the warp and woof of our lives, to show how it binds us together as friends and family, to illustrate the persistence of memory and vision in comprehending this high achievement of human artifice, because the game of baseball is a signifier of an advanced civilization, as much as representative government, literature, music, art and the sciences are. Itīs that important to my life and I hope to be able to communicate that to you.
FAQs? Thatīs up to you. Bring them to me. Simple or complex, I will try to address them. Iīm not going to get into stat-geek studies, I will try not to use terms like "regression to the mean" or "Pythagorean results" or "third-order wins" etc. Rather than try to explain the sunset, I will try to be JMW Turner and show you how to appreciate it. No small task!
I hope to hear from you, and I look forward to our creating a vital, engaged community of baseball fans!
