My name is Lestie Mulholland and I live in Johannesburg, South Africa. My professional career was in Life Skills training, Recruitment and Event Management and I am now semi-retired working as a building Caretaker for an apartment block in the garden suburb of Killarney where I have a treat of a garden to look after here, lucky fish me! I have a love of beautiful buildings, ‘old’ things, conversation; art; music and gardening. Of course, as with us all, there is a lot more as my creative hobbies include mosaic and pewter work and porcelain dolls.

CONTAINER GARDENING? I have been doing it for a very long time. I’ve always been intrigued with things that grow and way back then after completing a 12-month course in horticulture, I settled into married life and one of the ‘things’ I did was to start up and run a gardening circle (much the same as a book club). We had fun I tell you swapping plants and info, going on open-garden visits and just smelling the roses in general, yip, we took the time to do so.

Though raised in a farming area in Zimbabwe, I have lived with and in small spaces all my life so learning about, loving and conquering container gardening has been a natural part of living for as long as I can remember! Trial and Error are my middle names so I hope to share all the joys, challenges, creativity and lessons learnt with you through this BellaOnline site, the more so to inspire, help and support your own expeditions in container gardening.
