It is my goal to focus on positive attitudes while going through the divorce process and thereafter. I understand the divorce process causes an initial range of emotions including anger, fear and shock. Sometimes, abuse is involved and sometimes it is just a case of two people (or sometimes only one) who are not happy and want to end the marriage. I want to encourage people to stay positive during the process and exit with self esteem, hope for the future and the ability to embrace individuality. This applies to both men and women.
I am divorced and have remarried. My ex-husband and I have a cordial relationship for the benefit of our child. My husband has been more supportive than I could imagine. This does not mean things are always perfect. We are all human, but we try.
I am also an attorney, but do not practice family law. I will not be providing legal advice, but will try to guide people to seek legal counsel if appropriate. I strongly believe it is necessary to minimize the confrontational aspect of family law and divorce.
Finally, I want to be an advocate to remind all divorcing and divorced people who have children that the best interest of the children should always come first. This is easier said than done. I hope all the readers of this site will find support and encouragement here.
