About the BellaOnline Folk Music Editor

Welcome to BellaonLine’ Folk Music site.

New Years Eve 2002, as I watched the fireworks over the State House in Providence, I thought, I want to sparkle like those lights. I want to fill my life with joy and I set out to do exactly that. The past couple of years have been an amazing journey of self discovery and learning about what makes me sparkle. Throughout my life music and dance had been a constant inspiration giving me so much joy and peace. I knew deep in my heart that it was a key ingredient of bringing back my sparkle.

During this incredible period of change in my life, I discovered Celtic music and dance and shortly there after Cajun and Zydeco. My passions flared with a bright flame. The music is so incredibly upbeat and happy. As I started to attend music and dance festivals, my love of folk and bluegrass re-awoke like a sleeping dragon. If I have learned nothing else in the past few years, I have learned that only I am responsible for my happiness. I have learned that I have to be true to who I am and engage in activities that feed my passions. I cannot help but sparkle when I am dancing to music that is so uplifting. I cannot help but sparkle when I am surrounded by people having so much fun. My life has been so enriched with root music and I hope to share my passion for it with my readers.

My goal is to feature articles on various types of root music and dance including Celtic, Cajun, Zydeco, Bluegrass, Folk and other root music. I also will feature the dances and culture behind the music. Links will also be provided for Festivals, Events and Radio stations. Join me on a journey of love.
