I am an Indian-American and Hindu who grew up in the southern part of the United States. My family was actively religious, but I was also born with a natural curiosity about religious and spiritual dimensions of life. Therefore, from a very young age, I developed an interest in my own Hindu tradition as well as a variety of other religious and cultural traditions. This curiosity later led me to obtain both a Bachelors and Masters degree in religion. I have spent many years thinking about Hinduism from a variety of angles—from how it is practiced in daily life, to the various philosophical traditions, the arts, and the tradition’s adaptations in modern times.

Most importantly, I understand that Hinduism is perceived and understood in an infinite number of ways by those who call themselves Hindu. I have been fortunate to travel to different geographical locations where Hinduism is practiced—primarily within the United States and India, but am interested in other locations as well. I am always learning something new as I continue on my own journey as a practitioner and writer. This site is my humble attempt to introduce Hinduism through digestable articles that bring up a different aspect of the tradition.
