About the BellaOnline Indian Culture Editor

Namaskar!! Welcome to the Indian Culture site!

I am very excited to be the Indian Culture editor. I have always been fascinated about history, culture and human behavior and how they interact with one another. Growing up in India, I had the unique opportunity to live in three different states of India. These early experiences enriched my understanding of the diverse Indian culture that is united by a spirit of nationalism, oneness, love, tolerance and pride for its rich heritage.

My knowledge of four Indian languages made it easier to make friends and also appreciate the rich music, dance, food, literature and movies which are unique to each one of them. Being born in a family of Sanskrit scholars, I pride in my early years of training in the language as a priceless treasure.

With this writing opportunity, I want to share my research and discoveries of our traditional Indian culture and also the changes that are occurring at a rapid pace. I like reading, analyzing and discussing about Indian culture and its role in shaping people, society and the world. Feel free to ask a question, comment or share your views on the topic.

I encourage you to use any opportunity to travel all over India, read as many books as possible written by great Indian philosophers and scholars, interact with people from different parts of India, attend concerts of different schools of music and try various regional cuisines to experience the greatness of Indian culture. Take a train journey through India and discover for yourself the spectacular views, the people and the culture from a different, yet unique perspective.

I work in the field of mental health and see how human behaviors are influenced by their own culture and world views. With globalization, immigration and emigration, understanding and learning about other cultures is not only an important skill to have but may soon be a necessary one.
