I have been a fan of comic books since I was in elementary school, or perhaps even earlier. I, like others similar to me, have affectionately adopted the term �fanboy� (and of course fangirl for females), and wear it proudly. I feel comic books and manga are an extraordinary entertainment medium. My collection is always growing.
I regularly read about 30 comic titles each month, as well as the many back issues I purchase. From time to time, I will also pick up trades and graphic novels. While the majority of them fall under the superhero genre, that is not the only genre I enjoy. I have always shown my love for superheroes and will never hide it. I have become a huge fan of comic conventions as well, attending my first show in 2005. I currently attend at least 2 shows a year.
I am excited to have this opportunity to write for BellaOnline so that I can write regularly on a topic I truly enjoy. This will be a great place for me to express my views on various comics, characters, and issues within comics. I also look forward to discussing the realm of comics and manga with those long time fans as well as anyone who is interested.
In an effort to dispel some of the myths concerning comics and manga, they are NOT only for kids. While there are many books out there that are perfect for children, there are various genres and titles that are aimed at adults. So there is no shame in admitting your love or possible interest in manga and/or comics.
