That experience (along with countless others we face as military families) taught me how to endure numerous extended deployments, how to find and utilize the help available to military families, how to help my daughter deal with daddy being away, how to navigate all the red tape in the military and countless other major and minor daily occurrences as a military spouse. I learned the hard way, and hopefully I can lift some of that pressure from someone else.
I like to bring a unique mix of humor, frankness and understanding to the issues facing today’s military families. I’ve found there is no one “right way” to be a military spouse. We come from all sorts of backgrounds and this makes for a unique mix of people. One thing is for sure, though: each and every one of us needs support and assistance at one point or another. I like to help others by either giving them the support and assistance they need or directing them in the right direction. There’s nothing worse than feeling all alone in this lifestyle and I’d like to make everyone feel that they’ve got somewhere to turn for honest, direct and informative answers.
