Except for her first six months, Jennifer has spent her whole life in New York State. Moving from Albany to Rochester to Ithaca to New York City to Ithaca (again) and finally to Westchester County, she knows the difference between being an "upstate girl" and a "downstate girl."

She has been writing professionally since she graduated from Cornell University in 1986. While the fields changed from reinsurance to higher education to fundraising to magazines, she has enjoyed all her writing assignments except for the one that involved making financial aid information simple to read. Most recently, she has written for BEDFORD, FAIRFIELD, LITCHFIELD, RIDGEFIELD, WILTON, and Green Home magazines.

Jen has four children ranging in age from 10-21. The eldest attends Colgate University which means Jen has had the opportunity to get to know yet another town in New York State (Hamilton). Her husband is from Sweden (the country, not the town in upstate NY). Together they have taken the kids on vacations to Whiteface, Lake George, Millbrook, Niagara Falls, Alexandria Bay, Long Island,Manhattan, and many other New York destinations.
