About the BellaOnline Painting Editor

Art has been a passion of mine as far back as I can remember. My mother was a very creative seamstress, cook and "crafty" person. Her passions passed right on to me.

The artistic side really began to work itīs way out when I started studying decorative painting many yeas ago. The more I learned, the more I realized how much more there was to learn. From decorative painting (with oil paints) to canvas painting with oils, watercolors, decorative painting and canvas painting with acrylics, my artistic adventure has wound itīs way through my life and continues today as strongly as ever.

Teaching has been a constant companion to my learning adventure since it began. My first Tole and Decorative painting classes were taught by Priscilla Hauser who is, in my opinion, the founder of our present decorative painting. She taught us to use contrast in our painting and taught us to teach others ... to share our passion for painting with them. Sharing my love of art goes on and on each day.

Although I seldom find time to teach now, I share my work now in the form of handpainted murals, borders and vignettes in the homes of my customers. Handpainting, combined with faux finishes I create to accompany it, is how I most often share my artistic passion today.

Other passions include my love for Jesus, the Lord of my life; love for my family (especially my grandchildren); followed by (in no particular order), our two cocker spaniels, horses, sewing, machine embroidery work, making all natural soaps, lotions and mineral makeup and writing. Each of these gives me an artistic outlet in a different way. I guess itīs something thatīs going to stick with me, huh?
