I’ve found that for the most part, that people simply need to know that someone cares enough to help them. That they are not alone and that some how, some way there is light at the end of the tunnel for their problems. A kind word or a pleasant smile can make someone’s day.
I’m guessing that most of you have heard of the ‘Pay It Forward’ philosophy. That if you help someone today you will one day have someone help you in return. If we could only realize the ripple effect of a good deed or a kind word, we would go out of our way to do them.
I believe that living is a once in a lifetime adventure. I’ve heard people say that God helps those who help themselves. But I say, God helps those who help others. Believe it or not you will never run out of people to help. To paraphrase Mother Theresa, “Just because you can’t help all, doesn’t mean you can’t help some.”
I love to write. Whether it be a $5,000 grant for a recycling program or a $1 million grant for homeless veterans, personnel policies and procedures or personnel handbooks, union contracts or program regulations, newsletters, short stories, motivational material, or simply writing stories in hope of one day publishing my first book. My favorite authors are Max Lucado and Wayne Dyer.
I have been collecting and writing quotes for most of my life. I’ve probably written several thousand quotes (one or two liners) based on simple every day life. I keep a note pad by me at all times: in the car, by the bed, and I’ve written things down on the back of napkins, scraps of paper, candy wrappers, the margin of books, or even with a crayon on a mirror or car windshield, just so I wouldn’t forget a thought.
Did I mention that I love to write? My writings are motivational, Christian based, inspirational, thought provoking and often with a sense of humor. My hope is that here at BellaOnline, I can share my thoughts with others in a way that will lighten their load, brighten their day and remind them that life is as good as we allow it to be.
I welcome input from all and encourage everyone to constantly look for the bright side of things and maybe even think about getting a notebook or two for yourself to write ‘your’ thoughts. You might find it’s one of the best things you ever did for yourself.
My favorite quote from William Shakespeare is, “To thine own self be true.” Good words to live by indeed.
