Giving to Veteran Organizations
There are many fantastic charitable organizations to assist veterans. However, I have come to the conclusion that for every good charitable organization for veterans, there are many not-so-savory ones. Here are some simple clues to help you decide who gets your money.

Corregidor – The facts behind the movie
This cheesy movie, often interspersed with dull political-type speeches about honor and glory and democracy and good versus evil was a shameful reflection of the truth of the Battle of Corregidor. Learn more about the facts.

Prayer Shawls for Fallen Soldiers
We all yearn for peace, but as long as we cannot control what goes on around the world, our gifts of love do make a huge difference in the lives of our military families. When they learn of our existence, a large group of Americans who care about their loss, that in itself is comforting. C.Haggerty

Hand-crafted Acts of Kindness for Our Veterans
Help yourself and help veterans by reading about five veteran-centered charities you may not have been aware of. They are based on hand-crafting items for use by our vets. I encourage you to support one of these – or one of the hundreds of other – charities which support our veterans.

The Mary E. Walker House
The Mary E. Walker House is a residential transitional facility to provide help and support for our women veterans. The key point here is the veteran must make a personal commitment to take charge of her own life. Here's a chance for you to help, too.

Go For Broke – The facts behind the movie
Go For Broke is the movie about the formation, deployment, and heroics of the 442nd, predominantly made up volunteers of ‘loyal American citizens of Japanese descent’. Learn more about this fantastic force.

Rear Admiral Grace Murray Hopper
Amazing Grace, how sweet the COBOL That saved a mess like these 010101001000111101011011 Now computing is such a breeze!

The Significance of the Poppy
The poppy is associated with service to one’s country and is used to commemorate those who died fighting for their county. If you are from a generation after WWII, you may recognize the symbol but have you given much thought as to why that particular flower was used?

Days of Remembrance
At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.

Gung Ho – The facts behind the movie
Gung Ho is the story the establishment of a specialized Marine force trained in guerilla techniques. Once trained, this elite force successfully -- although with tremendous losses – took the island of Makin from Japanese control. Learn more about the facts behind this movie.
