Make a list, call everyone up and decide who will be responsible for what: drinks, hamburgers, hotdogs, salad, fruit, etcetera. Agree upon a menu based upon the likes of each family that is participating. This not only saves on money, but also on time.

It may be too late for Independence Day, but for future reference, plan ahead. Shopping for items a little at a time will help cut costs. Invest in a deep freezer if you haven’t already done so. In the long run, it’s quite economical and time-saving. You can pick up extra items here and there each time you go grocery shopping. Freeze the items, or store them away from your regular household items. The same goes for napkins, paper plates, cups and the such. Before you know it, you are set for any holiday.

Many don’t like it, but you can save a whole lot of money when you clip those coupons. For the best use of coupons, stick to the items that you know your family frequently uses. Look for manufacture coupons, 2 for 1’s, and store coupons. Investing in the Sunday paper is worth it for the coupons, as well as internet sites that have printable coupons. Also, be sure to check out the store you frequent, online website. They often have printable coupons. Also, if they offer one, sign up for their bonus card. It really adds up. You may also save on gas, as some supermarkets are now giving points for the purchase of gas.
