Unit 1: Cut out all of the pieces required according to the template map above and lay them out on your work surface. Sew a C to a Dr and then sew an A to the CDr unit.

Unit 2: Cut out all of the pieces required according to the template map above and lay them out on your work surface. Sew a C to a D. Sew an A to the CD unit.

Unit 3: Cut out all of the pieces required according to the template map above and lay them out on your work surface. Sew a D and a DR to either side of the B piece.

Unit 4: Cut out all of the pieces required according to the template map above and lay them out on your work surface. Sew a D and a Dr to either side of a B piece.

Putting the units together: Sew the Unit 1 to the Unit 2. Sew the Unit 3 to the Unit 4. Sew each units together to create one quarter of the West Virginia Block. Repeat the above instructions for the remaining three quarters.

Final Instructions: Using the Template map of the placement of each of the quarters, sew the top two quarters together, sew the bottom two quarters together and finally, sew the top row to the bottom row together to create the West Virginia Block.

Your block should measure 12-1/2" on all sides. It will measure 12" finished size when it is sewn into a quilt.
