Langshan Black Rooster

The Langshan Black Rooster has feathered toes, making it an extremely interesting looking chicken! Here is a photo of the feather footed bird taken at a nearby farm.

The Langshan chicken breed originated in China and is considered one of the oldest types of chicken in the world. These chickens were extremely popular in the US in the 1800s.
Here's a photo of another Langshan Black Rooster, supplied by Richard Schock. He says the one I saw in the barnyard tour was a bit sickly and he wanted to show a more healthy one :)
