Wrapping Presents
Guest Author - Jessica Steinmetz

Well, you shopped until you dropped or until your fingers hurt from online shopping. Your list is all checked off and credit cards are maxed out. Now you look around and see unwrapped gifts. This week we’ll concentrate on how to get those gifts wrapped without going crazy.

If you have the ability to wrap using both your hands, things are easier. However, wrapping with one hand can be done, but much more challenging. You can find these supplies at most office supply stores such as Staples or Office Max. Here are some options for one-handed wrappers:
- Use the new tape dispensers that dispense the tape from a handy case.
- Use the roll on tape where you can just roll it on and tear it off.
- Use a wrapping paper measurer where it looks like a ruler and you can easily rip off the exact amount of paper needed.
- Use gift bags. All you need to do is add some festive tissue paper and put the gift in the bag.

So, what do you do if you can’t use your hands at all? Well, fortunately there are plenty of ways around this dilema. Here are a few suggestions:
- Many department and online stores offer gift-wrapping services. It might cost a little extra, but you will have a nicely wrapped gift.
- Use gift boxes or bags. You can put the gift in the bag or box and away you go. Sometimes all a gift needs is a festive bow for the wrapping.
- Ask a local school or church if anyone would like to volunteer to wrap gifts.
- Contact family or friends to see if they’d like to give you some help. Possibly, you could hold a gift wrapping party at your home.
