Book Review - Classic Origami
Guest Author - Lisa Shea

With a name like classic origami, you might think this book was full of boxes and cranes. It actually has some VERY interesting animals in it!

There are peacocks and hens, snails and rhinocerosses, bats and crocodiles. Each animal has a photo done in lovely multi-color paper. The diagrams are drawn, and are shaded with colored pencil. Words and arrows help explain what to do at each step.

These definitely are not shapes for beginners to tackle. Off you have to go to one portion of the book to build the basic shape, then go to another area to do the remaining 20 steps.

Also some of the shapes are rather obscurely done. The "cow" doesn't look extremely cow like. It looks more like perhaps an angular pig. You need a good imagination for a few of these.

Still, if you're an origami fan that has mastered the basics, this can be a fun way to learn some advanced shapes!
