Dick Eastman
Dick Eastman is the author of Eastman’s Online Genealogy Newsletter, a daily publication with over 50,000 readers. Dick has his finger on the pulse of current happenings in the genealogical world and informs his readers daily. Footnote.com, online British slave records, RootsMagic Cruise information and NARA’s potential hours being cut are currently topics Dick Eastman is writing about. His newsletter has a “standard” edition that is free, as well as a “plus” edition.

The “standard” gives you a small bit on an article, while the “plus” gives you the complete article. The “plus” has more articles, delivered via email earlier and is ad-free.

Dick is the author of “Your Roots: Total Genealogy Planning on Your Computer.” This comes as a book and CD. “Your Roots…” provides an overall picture of how to use a PC to organize and simplify the process of tracing ancestry, this book shows readers how to track ancestors and other relatives in a computer database, how to print a variety of reports and how to create a "custom book" of their ancestry. It also covers digitized photography and photograph restoration.

Dick is a popular lecture. While some of us can not make it to the states where he is speaking, you can take advantage of his expertise right at home via your computer. Roots Television has many videos of his lectures and interviews. Some topics you can currently catch are Dick’s interview with Stephen Morse, Jan Gow, Bob Velke, Chris Haley and “Dear Myrtle.” Who are these people I just mentioned? I challenge you to visit RootsTelevision.com and find out for yourselves what Dick Eastman discovered during his interview with them.

Dick will be a speaker on the RootsMagic Cruise sailing September 28-October 5, 2008. You can still book your room and get the early bird discount if you book before April 30!

Dick Eastman has developed the site “Encyclopedia of Genealogy”. The Encyclopedia of Genealogy is a free-content encyclopedia created by its readers, people like you. The Encyclopedia of Genealogy is available to everyone, free of charge. Everyone can also contribute information, again free of charge.
