Software

Here you will find programs to help you work.

Choosing & Using Genealogy Software star
This week I attended a lecture at the TN Genealogical Society. Deborah Atchley was the speaker for the topic, Choosing & Using Genealogy Software. I wanted to share some of her links with you. All of the software has great attributes, you have to decide which one works best for you.

Digital Frames star
A great new tool to record experiences is the new digital frames. Upload your jpeg and exif pictures using an USB port. You can adjust how fast the images show (5 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 1 day, etc).

Family Tree Builder 5.0 star
MyHeritage.com brings Family History to the Masses with Free Family Builder 5.0. Here is their press release!

Family Tree Maker 2009 Features star
Part two of my review of Family Tree Maker 2009© (FTM 2009) includes features in the Web Search, Places and Media workspaces. FTM expanded the Web Search feature with more databases on a manual basis, either paid for or free. FTM still searches the Ancestry database for results.

Family Tree Maker 2009 Review star
Family Tree Maker 2009© (FTM 2009) has many new features over the previous versions. Even though itís the nationís most popular genealogy software, itís amazing how many features are included in this software package for a low price.

FTM 2009 Sources and Publishing Features star
Family Tree Maker 2009© (FTM 2009) users will appreciate the easy to use Sources and Publish features. Iím glad to see the FTM developers reserved a tab for this important feature. Experienced genealogists cite their sources as should all genealogists for validation.

Genealogy Software star
Genealogy software programs are very helpful in keeping our family data organized; a program that helps us print out charts and reports. Here are a few of many to choose from.

Personal Ancestral File: Genealogy Software Review star
Personal Ancestral File is a FREE genealogy software program provided by the LDS organization. It creates GEDCOMs, tracks your ancestry and much more.

Surname Suggestion List Review star
The Surname Suggestion List is a new tool to aid in genealogy research. The first release was in June 2007, so you can be among the first to take advantage of this new genealogy site.
