Greenbrier Restaurant in Huntsville, Alabama
Guest Author - Kimberly Button

GreenbrierJust 10 minutes from the Huntsville International Airport and just 15 minutes from downtown Huntsville, AL, the Greenbrier Restaurant serves up hearty portions of BBQ and seafood for a very small price.

GreenbrierFoodThe classic road side café is a favorite among locals, and for good reason. A small BBQ platter, shown to the left, is only $4.95 and comes with moist BBQ, coleslaw, pickles and a choice of sides. A mammoth sized drink is just $1.19.

The Greenbrier is well known for its seafood, which includes fried shrimp and fried oysters and a seafood platter that’s just $9.95. Among the Southern appetizer offerings are fried pickles and some of the best hushpuppies that I’ve tasted.

Be sure to try the white BBQ sauce, a combination of mayonnaise, vinegar, pepper and spices.

If you’re lost and asking for directions, you might want to specify “The Old Greenbrier Restaurant” since there are two Greenbrier Restaurants in the area.

Located off of the Greenbrier Road exit of 565, then go to the end of the road. Phone (256) 351-1800.
