One of the most beautiful resorts in Aruba is the Marriott is a romantic escape for couples. Drop your bags in your room and put on your swimsuit and head over to the adults only pool. Snuggle up to your sweetie in the pool or in the cabanas. Fine dining is at its best at Atardi (the toes in the sand restaurant) Sip on a tasty cocktail or wine while enjoying a shrimp for tuna tartare appetizer. If you love seafood, keep it going by ordering the catch of the day.

After sleeping in indulge in the hearty breakfast buffet, which has just about everything you could ever want for breakfast including perennial favorites like a omelette station, fresh fruit and breads and other more local specialties. Though you won’t spend much time in your room, when you do you’ll love it. Cement walls ensure a very quiet room for peaceful sleep. Here are a couple of important things to know before you visit Aruba:

Bring cash as most places don’t accept credit cards and you’ll need it for taxis and for using bathrooms (if you are in town or leave the resort). Yes, they charge you to use bathrooms but it is only like one dollar. Fun fact: In Aruba you must have been born in Aruba to drive a taxi.

Pack the highest level of sun screen you can find. Aruba is located very close to the equator. Although the temps are more mild than humid (there is a lot of dessert area in Aruba), don’t be fooled into thinking you don’t need thorough protection from the sun.

Good news: you clear customers in Aruba and don’t have to worry about it when you land back in the United States! This says a lot of time on the return trip!
