Bird Encyclopedia - A

Guest Author - Lisa Shea

Birding Encyclopedia A has albatrosses and anhingas. What other birds begin with the letter A?

American Bald Eagle
The symbol of American Pride is the American Bald Eagle. Learn more about the US National Bird.

American Robin
The American Robin is often the first bird a youngster can recognize. Instead of hiding in trees, it strides along lawns, hunting for worms. Its blue eggs are often used in nest illustrations. It has a warbling song it sings, when it is feeling musical.

Anhinga
I love Anhingas, they are so interesting! They actually fly down into water and swim around after fish. Then they come back up to a tree to dry out!
