Five Ways to Improve Your Figure

Here are five ways to improve your figure that do not involve the number on the scale or what you put in your mouth. They are simple things that every woman can do. These are not "rules" they are suggestions. Pick and choose the ones that suit you.

Stand Upright

It seems obvious but most of us are not really standing upright. We are all a bunch of slouchers especially those of us who work at desks all day. For five minutes a day practice perfecting your posture while you are sitting and when you are standing. Be aware of where your shoulders are. Tuck them back an inch or so (but not too far back or else you will look like you are jutting out your breasts). Lift your rib cage as if you were going to stretch up. Elongate your neck and lift your chin. Stop looking at your feet when you are walking, look ahead.

Get Fitted For a Bra

Nothing can improve a woman's figure better than a good bra. Over half the bra wearing women in the world are walking around with an incorrectly fitted bra. Any distinguished lingerie store will know how to fit you for a bra. Keep an eye out for bra clinics too as some clothing stores will bring in a bra specialist or specially train staff for the event. A well fitted bra should provide lift, improve your posture, and shouldn't ride up in the back -- some times it is not about fit but quality and design. You ever go shopping at one store and you are a size 18 and then another and you are a size 20? It is going to be the same for bras so even if you are fitted for a bra do not carve that size in stone.

Reduce the Baggy T-shirts

There is nothing wrong with a baggy t-shirt now and then but to wear them perpetually makes you look bigger than you are and frankly it is a bit boring. Your shape is more exciting than that! To give the t-shirts some shape, wear them under a vest, wear them untucked and with a belt (wide or narrow). Sew some seams, two in front and two in back, to give some of your boxy tees some shape. And add a few shaped tees to your wardrobe.

Leave Something to the Imagination

The opposite end of the baggy t-shirt is wearing clothes that are so tight that it leaves little to the imagination. I'm not talking about reducing your sexy quota, I'm talking about increasing it. Falling out of your clothes isn't sexy even if you are slender. If the seams are pulling you are wearing the wrong size. And instead of people being distracted by how good you look they are distracted by your clothes being too small. Go a size up and see how it fits. Don't be focused on fitting into a smaller "size". Focus on a proper fit.

Walk

Go for a walk around the block. Fit in five minutes of walking anywhere and anytime. The intention is not to lose weight but to get you out in the fresh air and your blood circulating. It gives your face a lovely glow, loosens tight muscles, and ultimately aids posture.
