Choosing the Right Twin Stroller

Choosing the Right Twin Stroller
Selecting a stroller for your twins is a very important decision. Although you can ask everyone for suggestions, you're more than likely going to end up choosing the one that you think will work best for you and your multiples.

Research your choices carefully, and you can enjoy years of hassle free stroller use. Here are a list of things to keep in mind when making that important purchase:

Tandem Stroller

They fit very nicely through doors and are preferred by parents who know that they'll be doing many solo trips with the twins.

Tandem strollers are almost always a little more padded (and thus more comfortable) than side by side strollers-and are usually geared toward infant twins.

These strollers are easier to maneuver through narrow aisles, but longer also means wider turns. Look around the mall and you will discover that many stores do not have wide aisles.

Coffee anyone? If you're the type of parent that like to sip and walk you might just end up getting a tandem stroller. Many side by side strollers do not offer this option and you might have to purchase a clip on.

Only the back seat reclines the whole way in a tandem stroller. The front seat usually only goes half way which can be an issue if you're looking for something your twins will nap in while you run errands.

May the kicking begin! You will find that the twin that you place in the back may be a little annoyed that he/she can not have a “full view” of what is ahead! They might find themselves bored and start kicking the twin in the front!

Side By Side Strollers

These strollers tend to be a lot lighter than the tandem strollers. They are easy to put in and take out of the car. This is something that you might want to keep in mind if you have back issues or can not lift above a certain weight.

Full view ahead! These strollers give both twins the liberty of seeing everything in front of them. Con? Well, they also have the liberty of picking and grabbing at each other since they are so close!

Not very comfy for infants. Even though these strollers are great for toddler twins you might have to purchase an insert to make them comfy for your twins. You should also consider getting a head supporter if your twins do not have full control yet.

The seats recline so that both twins can take a long nap while you shop or run errands. This is priceless if your twins tend to fall asleep in the stroller!

Many side by side strollers do not offer the same type of canopy coverage that tandem strollers do; this is one of those things you might want to research carefully before purchasing.
