Intimacy and Feng Shui

Guest Author - Lisa Shea

Intimacy is a wonderful part of a relationship. With all the stress of the modern world, sometimes intimacy can suffer. Here are ways to use feng shui to bring more intimacy into your life!

First, red is seen by most cultures as the color of passion. You probably don't want to paint your walls, ceilings, and floors red - but add some red highlight into your world.

Put items in pairs. Have paintings with paired up people, and have items in pairs. While family pictures are good in the family room, the bedroom should be about more seductive thoughts.

Mood lighting really does help. Go with candles and dimmed lights. Avoid sharp, harsh lights. If you don't want actual flame, there are many flameless candles out there that provide the gentle light without fire hazards.

Reduce distractions in the bedroom. If you have a desk or TV in the bedroom, it's time to remove them. They might seem convenient, but they give your mind another thing to think about doing. It's good to have the focus in the bedroom be each other.

Fragrance is also key in a bedroom. Does it smell appealing? Intoxicating? Experiment with different fragrances until you find the one you both adore. If lavender makes you think of snuggling - but makes him think of his elderly grandmother - you probably want to try something else.
