Memory Wire Charm Bracelets

Memory Wire Charm Bracelets

For fast, easy projects that make wonderful gifts, these easy bracelets really fit the bill. Chubby Chico Charms carries thousands of charms that will fit almost any personality or interest. This makes a great project to do with beginning beaders or young people.

You will need:
A dozen charms
A dozen jump rings- I used fairly large ones from my stash but they do carry jump rings as well; look for links in their search box
pliers
bracelet memory wire- 1 wrap plus an inch or two of overlap
memory wire cutters
ends for the memory wire
Beads- 6-8 mm beads, and 3 mm beads

About ending memory wire- there are a few methods. Half drilled memory wire beads that can be glued on are popular, so is just turning a small loop. Both methods are frequently used, but glue can be messy with the end beads and turning the ends of the hard steel wire can be hard if you don't have much hand strength. I opted for a different method. I used stick pin clutches. These little barrel shaped clutches have rubber on the inside. I applied watch glue to the end of the memory wire, then put on the clutch.

Put jump rings on the charms and finish one end of the memory wire so the beads don't fall off. String on a small bead, a large bead, a charm, a large bead, a small bead. Keep putting on beads and charms in that order until you're out of beads. At this point, you should just be in the overlap area. In that area, alternate large and small beads until you're a half inch away from the end and finish the opposite end. The image below shows how the beads look up close.

Chubby Chico Charms carries several assortments that are very inexpensive. Just search on their site for "one dozen" to see the 28 types of assortments they have available. If you want to pick and choose according to your interests, you can choose from many categories or use the search to find charms in your interests. They also have a whole bunch of "I love" hearts that cover almost every hobby you can think of. Soap making, beads, scrapbooking etc.

Chubby Chico Charms provided the charms for this project to me free of charge.
