Darlene McCoy to Host Birthday Bash!
Gospel artist, minister, author, radio personality and my friend Darlene McCoy will celebrate her birthday with a star-studded party that is free and open to the public!
The birthday bash will take place on Monday, October 31, 2011 at the Porter Sanford Theater, 3181 Rainbow Drive, Decatur, GA at 7 pm. Although the party is free McCoy is asking for a minimum $10 donation for her Jenimac Foundation. The foundation sponsors the inspirational Jenimac Moments on McCoy's radio show and is geared towards helping young girls.
Comedian and radio host Rickey Smiley will be the host for the night. A who’s who of artists will be on hand to celebrate and perform for McCoy including actress’ Kim Fields and Tasha Smith, songstress and BET Sunday Best Finalist Jessica Reedy, Earnest Pugh who has the number one song on the billboard gospel charts “I Need Your Glory”, and guitarist and singer Leon Timbo.
The hilarious new quartet group Joe Willie and the Deuteronimaires featuring Rickey and Darlene will also be on hand to perform.
McCoy burst on the gospel scene in 2007 with her self-titled CD whose single “Fallen in Love” was used on the soundtrack of Tyler Perry’s first hit movie Diary of a Mad Black Woman. The two-time Dove Nominee is a leader in her community, as she is a well-respected minister of music.
The anticipation for new music from this celebrated vocalist is incredible. Her new single “I Shall Live & Not Die” is a world crossover and has been at the top of the charts for weeks. It was also the underlying theme song for The Clinton Ron Walker Foundation and the Youth 4 Healthy Hearts Concert where she was the featured artist.
Come out and take part in this exciting event. Let’s celebrate another year in the life of Darlene McCoy and give to a great cause.
