Five Christmas Craft Ideas

Five Christmas Craft Ideas
Christmas time is craft time. Making your own Christmas decorations is a fun way to spread the joy of the season. If you have the time, you can add a personal touch to your home decorations and gift packages using these simple craft ideas. They are an exciting way to celebrate the season and a much better alternative to readymade Christmas supplies. For most of these ideas, you can use recycled materials and save up on costs besides celebrating in a ‘green way’.

Handmade Christmas Cards
Christmas card making is easy and lets your loved ones feel very special. All the time you invest on creating your own cards is worthwhile as they add a personal touch which is largely missing in printed cards. You can cut out pictures from used cards and make your own cards with them. This is a green and creative way to share your Christmas greetings!

Christmas Trees
There are several simple ideas to make your own small Christmas trees. You can cut out semi circles from colorful paper and join them to form a cone. Mount this on a stick and voila, your tiny tree is ready. You can let your creativity guide you on decorating these trees. They look great on shelves, book racks and anywhere else where you put them!

Tree Ornaments
Used egg cartons are ideal to make bells for your tree. You can make snowmen with used ice cream sticks and bits of cotton wool. By altering the shape a bit you can make tiny angels too. If you have baby socks, you can put that up on the tree as well.

Wreaths and Wall Hangings
You can make your own wreaths and decorate them with ribbons and glitter. Cut out shapes of angels, bells and other Christmas themes on card paper, add a dash of color to adorn your walls and fill up any blank spaces.

Gift Tags
Why not make your own tags to put up on your gifts? You can make these with ease by sticking Christmas themed stickers or drawing tiny Christmas trees, angels, stars and bells on your gift tags before adding your name and message.

Finally, you don’t have to be an expert to make any of these crafts. I am not and yet I don’t let any Christmas get by without adding at least a couple of my hand made decorations. Doing crafts for Christmas lets you enjoy the season at your creative best!
