Destination Honeymoon Planning
Many couples dream of traveling to exotic places for their honeymoon, but when it comes down to mapping out the details of this special trip, they are essentially clueless – and exhausted from planning the wedding.
While embarking on a cruise, settling into a cozy inn or lolling on a faraway beach - a piña colada in hand – appeal to many newlyweds, most people may not know how to make that happen. It’s important to remember that “perfect” honeymoons don’t just happen. They take months of research and negotiations with airlines, hotels etc. before you can settle on something you’re happy with.
With all the details of the actual nuptials to tend to, where does one find the time to deal with that important first vacation as newlyweds?
Many couples opt for a destination wedding, which is often a good way to go because it solves both “problems” at once. Think about it. You can still have the wedding of your dreams, combine it with your ideal honeymoon and enjoy all of it with your “nearest and dearest.”
Typically, destination weddings and honeymoons outside of the US cost significantly less than they do at home, which is important to consider.
According to Kimberly Richmond, romance travel contributor for CBS Travel Editor Peter Greenberg, a honeymoon should be about, “romance, relaxation and fun.”
“Every couple has their own, unique love story and there are countless settings that conjure up romance,” she advises. “It’s important to focus on this. The key to finding that perfect honeymoon spot is in doing the research and using your imagination in order to create that once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
Kimberly is a strong believer in hiring a professional honeymoon/wedding planner. As the president and founder of Runaway Bride Destination Honeymoons and Weddings, she knows what the advantages are to getting professional help when planning this important journey. Her company specializes in “unique, boutique and romantic” properties throughout the world.
“We recognize that no two couples are the same and as such, no two honeymoons or weddings should be alike,” she explains. “We are very discriminating about the places we select as we want to focus on premier properties that can deliver the 5-star services we promise our clients.”
“The destination, venue and ambience should reflect your personalities and lifestyles,” she adds. "So it's important to plan accordingly."
Runaway Bride offers a personalized, hands-on approach which guarantees creative customization of every event – something which is vital when planning your honeymoon.
