Arcan's Revenge - a ReviewArcan's Revenge, written by Nelani A. Nettrour, is the exciting sequel to Soaring Free. At the end of the first book, Arista has remembered just who she is and who Darius is. Back on her home planet of Lamac, their wedding is now going to take place, and both of her parents have blessed their joining. Arista is uneasy, though. She worries that Arcan is still up to no good. She fears that he will try and stop the wedding somehow. Darius convinces her that it is all in her imagination. Arcan now has his own world to rule, and he is too busy to worry about Arista anymore. Or is he? Darius convinces Arista that all of that business with Arcan is over. He assures her she can relax now. All is going to be fine. So Arista relaxes and lets down her guard. Is this a mistake? Arcan has only grown more evil and more desperate. His desire for revenge has not weakened any, it has only grown stronger. It has grown so strong that he begins to allow the Dark One to possess him. Arcan wants revenge so bad that it consumes him. He was left standing at the altar when Arista refused to marry him. How dare she do such a thing! Arcan plans on controlling the Dark One. So who will control who? Even though no one else has ever succeeded in doing this, he believes that he is crafty enough to do it. He is planning and plotting. He is waiting for just the right moment to take Arista. He is waiting for just the right moment to kill Darius. And he wants Darius to see Arista disappear. He wants him to suffer and realize that he has lost her forever. And he wants Darius to know who has taken her. In this book, you get to see the drawings that Darius made in Soaring Free come to life. Darius is aided in his quest to save his bride by a dragon and a pegasus. Will they succeed in saving Arista? Or will Arcan succeed in his evil plans? Could the bond that has formed already between Arista and Darius be strong enough to stop him? The author takes her readers on an exciting journey full of fantasy to other worlds – one full of love, the other full of hate and deceit.
