You Don't Know Jack - a Review

Adrianne Lee shows her talent for combining humor with murder, mystery, and mayhem in You Don't Know Jack. The detective and main character, Jack B. Smart, has this problem with men. She always seems to pick guys who are wrong for her, so she has made an extremely hard decision – she has sworn off men. Man-o-holics Anonymous (MA) was formed by her to help her stay away from them. The only member of MA is Jack B. Smart.

Her ex-husband wants to hire her and pay her extremely well to find out if his current boyfriend is cheating on him. At least that is what he tells her. Eventually she does accept the case and ends up stumbling over a dead body. You meet an amazing cast of characters - writers (Jack wants to be a writer), agents, an obsessed fan, lovers who have been betrayed, a writer who claims to have been plagiarized, and a murderer.

The murders? There is a killer on the loose, the Black Boutonniere killer. His signature is a black carnation left at the scene of the every crime.

The mystery? There is a lot of mystery. Who is Ruth Lester? Did Lars, Jack B. Smart's ex-husband, really plagiarize her book? Who is the killer? Who stole Lars' manuscript? Who is trying to kill Jack? And that is just a few of the mysteries in this book.

The humor? As I stated above, Jack has a problem with men. She likes them far too well. Listening to her as she encounters one hunk after another (including an ex-boyfriend), and seeing how she deals with the situation amidst all of the mystery going on around her is hilarious.

If you enjoy mysteries, you will enjoy this book. If you like to laugh, this book will have you rolling in the floor. You Don't Know Jack is most definitely an enjoyable read. I bought my copy of this book from Amazon. For your convenience, I have provided an Amazon link below if you wish to purchase your own copy of this book.
