Apply Fake Eyelashes Like a Pro

Apply Fake Eyelashes Like a Pro
False eyelashes can add a subtle touch or a dramatic look to your eyes in just an application, but many women are hesitant to wear them. Some are brand new to false eyelashes while others may have had a bad experience.

Have you ever found yourself intimidated by false eyelashes? Unsure of how to even begin putting them on? Allow me to teach you how to apply fake eyelashes so that it is easy and painless.

First things first, you should gather all of your supplies. You'll need your false lashes, lash adhesive, tweezers or the applicator tool some lashes come with and a tissue to wipe up your eyes if they begin to water.

I suggest getting everything ready and placing it within reach so that you're not bumbling around for something mid-application. With a little prep and patience, the process can be quick and fluid.

To begin, it's recommended that you apply your eye makeup first and apply the lashes last. Make sure to curl your natural lashes and apply mascara once you've finished your eye shadow. Next up, take a breath. It's time to put your lashes on.

For strip lashes, you should always put the lashes on your lid to see how they will fit. If they do not look like they will fit, trim the ends to the appropriate length.

Next, take your false lash strip and apply a thin line of glue at the base of the lash. I wait for about 7-8 seconds for the glue to start getting tacky and then use either the tweezers or my fingers to being applying by pressing the lashes into the base of my lash line.

From there, I start at the outer corner and move inward. To keep the glue from bubbling up, press down gently. The glue should dry in about two minutes, then give your lashes – fake and real – a curl. At this point you can apply a light layer of mascara to make the lashes blend in.

Individual lashes are simple to apply but are more time consuming.

To apply, hang onto the individual lash with your tweezers and apply glue to the tip. Wait a few seconds until the glue is able to get tacky and then apply the clump to your lash line. You should wiggle it in between your natural lashes. Repeat for as many lash clumps as you would like to apply.

When wearing individual lashes, be sure to put on mascara before you apply the lashes. This will give the glue something more substantial to hold onto.

Now that you've got gorgeous lashes, hit the town and bat those eyelashes!
