Night Secrets - a Review

Night Secrets, a paranormal romance that is fast-paced and full of suspense, was written by BK Walker. The story flows extremely well from beginning to end, keeps you in suspense, and leaves you hungry for more.

Keara Crosby is a teenage girl going through her senior year in high school. She has no worries, well, none besides the normal teenage worries. Her parents are gone a lot due to their jobs. On their way home, their airplane crashes and kills everyone aboard, and Keara’s stress-free life suddenly comes to an end. Keara, just about ready to graduate from high school, is left an orphan. Her Aunt Aingeal from Ireland comes to the states and moves in with her to watch over her. Her aunt is a stranger to her, so Keara ignores her for the time being. Aunt Aingeal doesn’t pay much attention to Keara either.

Keara had pretty much withdrawn from everything and everyone after her parents’ death, but after a few months, the desire to have a social life again emerges. Her best friend, Jared, takes her out to a club to see her favorite band. The band invites her to go to the new club in town, Night Secrets, the next evening to see them perform again. When she arrives there, she feels as though she is being watched. This really creeps her out, but she decides she is imagining things.

After her evening out, her aunt tries to take her aside to talk to her. She tries to warn her niece to be careful, but Keara is puzzled. Why after all this time does she want to strike up a relationship with her? Her aunt says it is serious and Keara needs to listen. But Keara gets a phone call and delays the talk with her aunt.

She is attacked at the club the next evening, and she feels strange things happening to her. With the discovery that not all of her friends are who they seem to be, and the discovery that she isn’t exactly who she thought she was either, Keara decides the time has come to have that talk with her aunt. She doesn’t like what she discovers, and her life will never be the same.

How would you feel if you suddenly discovered that you were a shape shifter and descended from Morgan Le Fay, an Irish goddess? Not only that, she discovers that she is surrounded by vampires and werewolves, and one of these vampires it out to kill her. Will her friends with their supernatural abilities be able to save her? What about the abilities that Keara is discovering she has? Will she be able to save herself from this vengeful vampire who wants so much more than her blood?

The more you become involved in the intriguing lives of these characters, the deeper you will be drawn into this book. The plot never slows down, so you won’t ever be tempted to put it down. There is a bit of erotica in this book, so it really isn’t suitable for young readers.

I was sent a Kindle copy of this book in exchange for an open and honest review. If you would to purchase a copy for your own Kindle library, I have provided an Amazon link below.
