A’phabet Day - This day which takes place on December 25 is for those who don’t want to send Christmas cards to their friends and family, but they still want to send a written message to them through the mail. They send out cards that list all of the letters of the alphabet except for “L”. Why no “L”? This day is also known as No-L Day. Still don’t get it? Then say No-L Day several times, and soon you should understand why.

Falling Needles Family Fest Day - This holiday on December 30 is for those of you who had a live Christmas tree. Your tree is now on its way out. It hasn’t been watered for a while, and its needles are probably falling off. Before you dispose of this year’s green decoration, gather everyone around the dying tree and have a party as you say goodbye to it.
Your character makes an astonishing discover as he is taking the ornaments off of his Xmas tree. What does he discover? Is it a joyous discovery, or is it a terrifying one? Does it cause his life to be in danger? Or could it save him from ruin?
Go Caroling Day - This day is about singing door to door in celebration of the Christmas season. Caroling from house to house has declined in popularity in these modern days, so why not try to revive interest in this tradition?
Your character has decided to do just that by organizing a group of people who believe this tradition to be an important part of their Christmas celebration. They believe that it brings joy to people when they knock on their doors and serenade them with Christmas music. What happens? Is your character’s effort a success?
Hanukkah is an eight-day festival that commemorates the re-dedication of the holy Temple in Jerusalem following the Jewish victory over the Syrian-Greeks. Also known as The Festival of Lights, it is observed by lighting a nine-branched Menorah or candle holder. The candles are lit from left to right.
A story where a young Jewish child has the importance of Hanukkah explained to her by one of her parents would be a good way to write about this holiday.
Humbug Day - The Christmas season stresses a lot of people. They are worried about buying just the right gift or about making the perfect Christmas dinner. Perhaps they are worried about visiting relatives they don’t really get along with. Whatever the reason for the stress, this is the day to vent their frustrations so they can enjoy the rest of the holidays.
It’s not hard to figure out that this holiday was probably inspired by Scrooge. Why not write a story about some other person who could possibly have inspired such a day? Could it have been inspired by someone you know?
Look for an Evergreen Day - This would be the day to go out and find that perfect Christmas tree before they are all gone. I wonder, did the person who created this holiday run out of luck one Christmas when it came to finding a tree to decorate with? What do you think? Write a story about how you believe this holiday came to be.
National Re-gifting Day - Have you ever received a gift that you had absolutely had no use for? Maybe you thought it was ugly. Maybe you liked it but still didn’t want to keep it. No worries. The way to celebrate this holiday is to re-gift those gifts you have received but don’t want to keep. Just because you don’t want to keep it doesn’t mean someone else won’t love it.
Your character receives a painting as a gift, but he believes it is the ugliest thing he has ever seen, so he re-gifts it. Then he discovers that what he has given away to someone else is worth a small fortune. Now he wants it back. What does he do?
St. Nicholas Day honors Saint Nicholas, a fourth-century bishop from Myrna, Turkey. He performed kind and miraculous acts and aided those in distress, so this is a day to show random acts of kindness to others.
In celebration of this day and to honor this great guy, why not write a story about one of the many awesome things he did?
