Quick and Easy Mother's Day Ideas to Crochet
It's easy to run to the store and buy your mom something for Mother's day. But why do that when you can make her something more personal and with the love that flows from your hands. Not sure what you can do to let your mother know how much she means to you? As a crocheter you have many possibilities.

Some projects will take time and planning such as as sweaters, afghans, tablecloths, shawls or any other large items. Depending on your skills and available time to crochet it could take weeks or months to make, but the gift you give will be appreciated for years to come. If you don't have the time or patience for these types of projects, don't despair. There are lots of suitable, quick and easy, crochet gifts that you can make to let mom know you are thinking of her and that she's special to you.

Crochet flower motifs, made with thread or fine yarn, in spring colors are a perfect embellishment to a handmade Mother’s Day card. And while we're on the subject of flowers, why not crochet her a dozen roses. There are many free patterns online for such patterns. If your mother likes to read, she probably would love a bookmark.

A small purse or hand clutch is another nice project for your mother. Buying purse handles at the craft shop or recycling handles from an old purse will reduce the time it takes to make the project. Perhaps she would appreciate a cover for her tablet, MP3 player, or cell phone.

When it come to bath and spa items you can crochet wash cloths, bath puffs or bath mitts packaged with her favorite soap, for instance. You can also crochet up a lacy trim and hand sew it onto store bought towels and wash cloths.

If you're thinking about something for the kitchen, how about a hot pad, pot holder, towel topper, or decorative crocheted fruit. Other ideas include casserole carriers, teapot cozies, toaster cozies and other useful accessories. Whenever she's in the kitchen she'll think of you.

For wearable items you can crochet up a beautiful assortment of barrettes or hair combs, pony tail scrunchies, and kerchiefs. You can also go with more traditional items such as scarfs, finger-less mitts, and slippers. Crochet thread and beads are great for making jewelry such as earrings, bracelets, and necklaces.

So what are you waiting for? Break out that hook and yarn and make those one of a kind, unique gifts for Mom. She'll appreciate the thought, time and energy you put into creating that handcrafted piece just for her.
