Story transcription – Juan y sus hermanos
Our past article “Spanish listening - Juan y sus hermanos" – includes a sound file and a vocabulary list about the story “Juan y sus hermanos – Chapter 1”. Remember? The idea was listening to the sound file and trying to recognize as many words as possible, and, of course, trying to understand the story.

Now, it is time to listen to the sound file but this time, as you listen to it, you can also read the story, as you can find below the transcription for the sound file.

You can listen to the story here:

Juan y sus hermanos - Capítulo I

In case you can't listen to the audio when you click on the play button above, Click here and you'll listen to it using your browser's default player.

And here is the transcription:

In case you prefer to listen to the audio and read its trascription at the same time, I have also created this video: Juam y sus hermanos - Capítulo 1

Some ideas:

First, listen to the audio and try to recognize the words. In case you don’t understand any of them, try to find it on the diccionary. In case you don’t have a dictionary, you can use an online dictinoary, i.e. WordReference.com.

After this, it is time to listen to the audio and read the transcriptions at the same time.

Whenever you find a new Spanish word, add it to a your list of Spanish vocabulary. Try to keep your list of words in alphabetic order.

I hope you find this exercise useful and, in case you have any question about this, feel free to post it in our Spanish Language Forum.
