Kataklysm: Following up last year’s Shadow and DustThe new Kataklysm CD Prevail will be available May 23 in Europe and May 27 in North America. The record was produced by Jason Suecof and also features appearances by Cannibal Corpse’s Pat O’Brien and Overkill’s Dave Linsk. Suecof also does some guitar work on the disc. There is also a bonus DVD included with live material from a December 2007 Las Vegas show.

Chrome Division: Fans of Dimmu Borgir can look forward to the sophomore release from Norway’s Chrome Division later this year. The band, of course, features Dimmu vocalist Shagrath on guitar. Their debut CD, Doomsday Rock ‘n’ Roll, which was released in 2006, was a down and dirty affair, going for a more basic approach than the death metal of Dimmu. Booze, Broads and Beelzebub doesn’t have a release date at this time.

Sonic Syndicate:Fans of Sonic Syndicate can see the band who are touring as the opening act for Nightwish until June 1 in North America. They will be appearing at various festivals in Europe throughout the summer.
