Fall Schedule Preview for Coffee Site

I love summer. There is no one in my immediate vicinity and beyond who is not aware of my daily whine. It is my weather--yes mine. Why? Because I love it unconditionally—the hot humid days, summer rain, scorching heat waves, the dog days, all of it. I can’t get enough and unfortunately, living in the northeast does not give me enough of my favorite season. But C'est la vie, what will be, will be. It is time to roll up those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer and put them away. Fall and winter will be rolling in no matter how much I protest so I might as well get on with it.

For the past year as coffee editor, my goal has been to have fun with coffee and fun I have had. Exploring the history and the process of growing coffee, attending events, like the Coffee and Tea Festival, making original drinks, and just talking about coffee and life in general. I plan to continue with this but I decided it is time for me to raise the bar on my coffee knowledge and go out into the world to explore coffee on a deeper level.

For a while now, I have resisted many of the coffee activities that I thought might make me a coffee “snob” but I have come to realize that more knowledge will probably make me appreciate my favorite beverage even more. Come along with me as I recount my own personal experiences and development with cupping and bean grinding. I will also tell you first hand all about The French Press. And please do call the fire department and ask them to stand by as I try my hand at roasting beans at home. I mean if you love coffee as much as I do, you may as well make it the most exciting and enjoyable experience possible.

As Dr. Suess says, “Oh! The places you'll go! You'll be on your way up! You'll be seeing great sights! You'll join the high fliers who soar to high heights.” I am looking forward to it. And by all means, please let me know what you are curious about. Just click on my picture and send me an email.

Stay tuned for new and exciting adventures as a summer of coffee comes to a close.
