Sharknado

A freak hurricane storms up the coast of California. When it finally makes landfall, not only will the residents have to fight for survival against Mother Nature, but also against the deadly sharks that have been caught up in the water funnels that the storm has brought with it. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “Sharknado”.

∙ Near the beginning of the movie, Fin is in the water and Baz offers to take him out further on the jet ski. Fin says “thanks” and hops on. In the front view of Fin getting on the jet ski, Baz grabs the surfboard with his left hand. It cuts to a close-up when Fin finally sits down and Baz is now holding the steering handle with his left hand. Also during this scene, when they start to drive off, Finn is gripping the surfboard at his side with his left hand. It cuts to a close-up when he mentions the “Mexican hurricane” and he’s holding the board under his arm, in the middle. It cuts back to the farther view and he’s holding it in the original position.

∙ After Bax has been attacked and Fin is driving the jet ski, the close-up of the two of them shows Baz’s left arm is draped across Fin’s left shoulder. But in the farther view of the two of them on the jet ski going through the water, they’re not even touching each other.

∙ Fin climbs off the bridge overpass to the bus that’s trapped in the water below. He opens the back of the bus and the front close-up of him, when he says “need a lift”, shows him standing inside the bus with his left hand on one of the seats. The scene cuts to a rear view of Fin and he’s outside the bus with his left hand holding the cable. It then cuts back to the previous close-up view and he’s once again standing inside the bus. The scene cuts back one more time to the rear view of him outside the bus.

“Sharknado” (2013) stars Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, John Heard, Cassandra Scerbo and Alex Arleo. It runs 86 minutes and is rated TV-14 for violence and gore, mild profanity, alcohol use and frightening/intense scenes.
