Do you love racing? Do you have a secret passion for a certain vehicle? Does your vehicle have flair? Style? An extraordinary history? Sentimental value? It is photogenic with a good story? If any of these things hold true, or if for any other reason you think your vehicle is worth using Amoco Ultimate, you could be on your way to 24 Hours at LeMans. A photo of this vehicle, with your story stated in 600 characters or less, could get you there!
24 Hours of LeMans is the yearly endurance race held near a town called LeMans, in France. For race fans, this is something of a different race in that it is not necessarily speed that wins the race, but the endurance and quality of the vehicles and drivers throughout the 24 hours of racing.
For this contest, once you have created your entry and loaded it onto the website, it will be reviewed. Once your submission is accepted, website viewers will then vote on their favorites. Once the voting is finished, the contest judges will determine the winners using the following criteria, and potentially more:
excellence in writing
creativity in selection of accessories
creativity in photographing vehicle
use of color
It seems that creating a good stage for your photo could give you an edge for this one, so take some time to think of how you would like to present your beloved vehicle to the world before taking that, preferably, winning photograph. Obviously, you will also want be sure to pay close attention to grammar and the like for your story.
On December 31, 2008 this contest closes, and the judges will pick one Grand Prize winner to receive a three day/two night trip for two to the 24 Hours of Lemans race in France, valued at $5,000. Two lucky runner-ups will win trips for two to American LeMans races, valued at 3,000.
Weekly winners recieve $250 BP/Amoco gift cards, with monthly winners receiving a $1,000 BP/Amoco gift card. As always, any submissions must be your own and cannot violate any copyrights, etc.
