The Primitive Lane Strawberry shortcakes that will make you drool, blueberry cobblers that will have you licking your lips and ice cream sundays that will make your stomach growl , all of these and more can be found at The Primitive Lane But before you start grabbing for your plates there is just one catch, you can not eat any of these tasty treats. The shelves of The Primitive Lane are filled with muffins, apple crisp, hot fudge brownies, blue berry loafs and oh so much more but what sets this Grande Prairie store apart from any other bakery? Well that answer becomes obvious as soon as you get a closer look (a much closer look) and discover that the tasty strawberry shortcake that the tasty strawberry shortcake you were eyeballing is actually a candle. Yep I said a candle, but these candles are far from ordinary. These candles look and smell just like your favourite treats. You can find just about anything including beer and margaritas! If you do not find the particular desert you are looking for then just send in a request and one will be handmade for you. Each and every candle is handmade right down to its tag. Candles are not the only thing this unique little store has. The Primitive Lane also has soaps which come in many different forms (including doughnuts), potpourri, air fresheners, and many other handmade crafts. One of my favourite items is the monster mash monster spray which is designed to scare away monsters out from under any bed and any closet. Made from calming lavender and rose scents and tested on the boogieman in their own house, this item is a must have for any household with small children. Buy a candle as a one of a kind gift or pick up one for yourself. They really do look ALOT like the real thing so its easy to fool company into thinking you always have baked goodies on the counter. I highly recommend visiting The Primitive Lane next time you are in Grande Prairie Alberta but if you are not planning a trip any time soon check out their website where you can view their items and order your own.
