Time For mom-Me Book Review

We have seen those cute sweat shirts that proclaim, If mama is not happy, nobody's happy and smiled. In her new book, Time For mom-Me: 5 Essential Strategies for A Mother's Self-Care author Mia Redrick has stepped up to the plate to help mom's find a way to be happier.

I love the authors play on the word "mommy." It shows that she understands that a woman can lose herself and her dreams because she is busy parenting, being mom, mother or mommy. If this is where you are right now, then this is the book for you.

Mia Redrick wife, mother, columnist, author and personal coach has written a book to help mothers find precious personal time without neglecting their children. As Ms. Redrick states, "Being a mother changes everything." She immediately puts the reader at ease by sharing her some of own early motherhood experiences. From the first chapter to the last, this book focuses on a mother's need for self-care. Ms. Redrick states, I found that the personal happiness of a Mom directly contributes to a happy family.

I don't know what Ms. Redrick did before she began to coach and write, but I am sure she would have been a heck of a good teacher. Time For mom-Me: 5 Essential Strategies for A Mother's Self-Care, while being a relatively easy read, asks some tough and personal questions, then gently but firmly, pushes you forward. You are given journal pages, affirmations to sign, assignments and practices. I repeat, Ms. Redrick would have made a heck of a good teacher.

I found that Time For mom-Me: 5 Essential Strategies for A Mother's Self-Care does something unusual, it gives your permission to grow. It makes you take a long hard look at yourself and your life as it is right now, then gives guidance for making a positive change whether you need a little nudge in the right direction or a full-blown makeover.

Highly recommended.
